BISHOP, THE EPISCOPAL DIOCESE OF INDIANAPOLIS

Bishop Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows, elected in 2016, is the first Black woman to serve as a diocesan bishop in the Episcopal Church. Her ministry focuses on historic preservation, stewardship, and reconciliation.

A runner, triathlete, and baker, she shares life with her husband, Harrison, and their son, Timothy.

Interim Rector

Fr. Joél serves as Interim Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church. His ministry is rooted in pastoral presence, thoughtful leadership, and a theology of radical welcome—creating inclusive and affirming spaces for all God’s people.

Fr. Joél comes to St. John’s with parish experience as Curate and Associate Rector at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Zionsville, and most recently as Interim Rector at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Noblesville. He has guided congregations through seasons of transition, strengthening worship, pastoral care, staff collaboration, parish operations, and community outreach. As an interim priest, his focus is to walk with the parish spiritually and organizationally as it prepares for the call of its next rector.

A proud Lafayette native, Fr. Joél earned degrees from PU—including his B.A. in Spanish Education—followed by graduate studies in leadership, business, and education, culminating in a doctorate in Organizational Leadership. He completed his M.Div. at Christian Theological Seminary and his Anglican Studies Certificate at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California.

Fr. Joél is married to his husband, Kyle, a Director of Special Education in the public schools. Together they are the proud parents of twins—a daughter and a son—and share their home with their beloved dogs Remington, Reina, and Ollie. They enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends.

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC

David Kime is our new Director of Music at St. John’s Episcopal Church!

David brings a rich background in choral conducting, sacred music, and church ministry. A recent graduate of Brigham Young University’s choral conducting program, he is also the founder and artistic director of the Ensign Singers, a chamber ensemble dedicated to sacred choral music. Beginning this fall, David will pursue doctoral studies in choral conducting at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

David and his wife Samantha have one daughter, Anneliese.

In 2026, Teresa celebrated 34 years as St. John’s Associate for Administration & Finance, a title she earned in 2023 in recognition of her years of dedicated service to the parish.

DIRECTOR OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Amanda joined St. John’s in 2023 as the Director of Christian Education.

She has three children, Katie, Kendall, and Corie.

Parish Administrator

Adrianna is originally from Sioux City, Iowa, and moved to Lafayette for graduate school in 2012. She holds an M.A. in English literature from Purdue, with a focus on the late medieval era, especially texts about long-distance travel and pilgrimage. In her spare time, she knits, crochets, spins yarn, and will probably fall down yet another fiber-related rabbit hole soon. Adrianna and her spouse, Zach, live in the Columbian Park neighborhood of Lafayette with a senior black cat named Midna, who dictates their every waking moment.
